The Second Curve Philosophy
When work, leadership or life needs a new direction
Second Curve Psychology works with individuals, leaders and organisations navigating change, complexity and uncertainty.
Inspired by Charles Handy’s Second Curve, the practice is built around the idea that change does not always mean something has gone wrong. Sometimes it signals that an existing way of working, leading or living has reached its limits and a different approach is needed.
My work spans therapy, executive coaching, leadership development and organisational consulting. I support people and organisations to understand what is shaping the current pattern, clarify what needs to change and move forward with greater judgement, confidence and direction.
For individuals, that may involve burnout, disillusionment, identity shifts, career transition or the sense that something no longer fits. For leaders and organisations, it may involve leadership pressure, culture, team effectiveness, change, risk, capability or the human impact of new ways of working.
The approach is practical, psychologically informed and grounded in the realities of work and life. The aim is not to pathologise people or apply generic solutions. It is to make sense of what is happening and identify a useful next move.
Working together
Good work starts with understanding what is actually happening, rather than rushing to solutions. Whether the focus is personal, professional or organisational, the aim is to make sense of the pattern, clarify what matters and identify a useful way forward.
My approach is evidence informed, psychologically grounded and shaped by almost 20 years of experience across therapy, coaching, leadership and organisational consulting. The work is tailored to your goals, values and context, with enough depth to understand what is driving the issue and enough practicality to turn insight into action.
Therapy is offered online. Coaching, leadership development and organisational consulting are available online or in person, depending on your needs and location.
