Session Fees

Payment is due at the time of your appointment via card or bank transfer.

If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for part of your session fee. Medicare rebates can be processed on your behalf once full payment has been received. Your rebate is typically deposited into your nominated Medicare-linked bank account within 24–48 hours of processing.

No-Gap Appointments

I believe therapy should remain accessible; especially during life’s most difficult transitions. As such, I offer a limited number of reduced-fee or no-gap appointments for clients experiencing financial hardship or belonging to marginalised or underrepresented groups. These sessions are fully bulk billed at the Medicare rebate rate.

This may include:

  • Individuals experiencing significant financial hardship

  • People from minority or disadvantaged backgrounds

  • Students, carers, and those receiving Centrelink support

If you believe this applies to your circumstances, please get in touch. Eligibility is assessed with compassion, discretion, and respect for your privacy.

Cancellation

I understand that life can be unpredictable; especially during periods of transition, overwhelm, or health challenges. As such, SCP’s cancellation policy is designed to be both flexible and fair.

  • I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • For every block of 10 sessions, clients are entitled to two late cancellations or no-shows without charge.

  • After these two waived instances, a 50% fee will apply for late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) and the full session fee will apply for missed appointments without notice.

Confidentialty

At Second Curve Psychology, your privacy is our priority. Everything you share in sessions is treated with strict confidentiality. This means that no information is shared with anyone else without your consent.

There are, however, a few legal and ethical exceptions where confidentiality must be broken. These are rare and are designed to keep people safe. They include situations where:

  • There is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person.

  • I am legally required to disclose information (for example, by a court order).

  • I become aware of abuse or neglect involving a child or vulnerable person.

These situations are known as mandatory reporting obligations. Whenever possible, Amy will discuss these concerns with you before taking any action.

Supervision

As part of professional leading practice, psychologists participate in clinical supervision. Supervision helps ensure the quality, effectiveness, and integrity of the therapy provided. In supervision:

  • The focus is on themes, challenges, and strategies; not unnecessary personal details.

  • Your identity is protected. Names and identifying details are not disclosed.

  • Supervisors are bound by the same strict confidentiality requirements as your psychologist.

Your trust and comfort matters to us. If you have any questions about confidentiality, supervision, or mandatory reporting, you are welcome to raise them at any time; either before, during or after sessions.
